THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a long-established and highly respected building services and HVAC specialist, delivering heating, cooling, ventilation and building management solutions throughout East Anglia and London.
Alongside their specialist HVAC services, they also provide hard facilities management solutions including electrical, security, fire safety, alarm systems and building controls through trusted specialist partners.
With over 100 years of industry experience, they have built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality engineering services and exceptional customer care to a predominantly commercial client base.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead their engineering function, ensuring outstanding service delivery whilst supporting the ongoing development of both engineers and client relationships.

ROLE SUMMARY
As Technical Services Manager, you will take responsibility for overseeing the successful delivery of planned maintenance, reactive works and installations.
Working closely with both engineers and office staff, you'll ensure every project is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard whilst maintaining excellent communication with clients throughout.
You'll also play a key role in mentoring engineers, improving operational processes and ensuring compliance across all engineering activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee the delivery of planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and installation works.
· Support the scheduling of engineers based on qualifications, experience and workload.
· Review engineer job reports before submission to clients, ensuring technical accuracy and quality.
· Provide technical support and oversight for quotations and engineering solutions.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, acting as the senior technical contact where required.
· Review and improve operational processes to maximise service efficiency.
· Lead, mentor and develop engineers and apprentices.
· Conduct performance reviews and support ongoing training and development.
· Ensure engineers maintain all relevant certifications including Gas Safe, F-Gas and other industry qualifications.
· Manage health & safety compliance, safety notices and engineering documentation.
· Oversee supplier and subcontractor relationships.
· Manage engineering tools, fleet vehicles and company equipment.
· Monitor departmental budgets and ensure commercially sound decision making.
· Support business growth by maintaining exceptional levels of customer service.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
You'll be someone who enjoys learning, thrives on responsibility and wants to build a long-term career within a growing consultancy.
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership skills.
You'll ideally have experience managing engineering teams within HVAC, building services or facilities management and enjoy working closely with both customers and engineers to deliver first-class service.
ESSENTIAL
· Previous experience managing service delivery or engineering operations.
· Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation or building management systems.
· Experience leading, mentoring and developing engineering teams.
· Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
· Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
· Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets or departmental performance.
· Organised, proactive and solution-focused approach.
· Relevant technical qualification within HVAC, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
· Full UK Driving Licence.
DESIRABLE
· Experience across wider facilities management disciplines.
· Previous responsibility for supplier or subcontractor management.
· Experience improving operational processes and service delivery.
