We are seeking a talented and passionate Experienced Dressmaker & Soft Furnishings Maker to join our creative team. Responsibilities
- Interpret design sketches, patterns, and client specifications to produce tailored garments and soft furnishings.
- Cut, sew, assemble, and finish clothing items such as dresses, suits, or alterations with accuracy and finesse.
- Create custom soft furnishings including curtains, cushions, upholstery, and other decorative items.
- Manage fabric selection, pattern adjustments, and fitting sessions to ensure perfect fit and finish.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace with proper handling of fabrics, tools, and sewing equipment.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice on fabrics, styles, and finishes.
- Discuss and hold appointments with clients which may include garment fittings
- Ensure all projects meet quality standards and are completed within agreed timelines.
Skills
- Proven experience as a dressmaker or soft furnishings maker with a strong portfolio of completed work.
- Extensive sewing skills with proficiency in various techniques and machine operation.
- Warehouse experience is advantageous for managing fabric inventory and storage efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise stitching, finishing, and overall craftsmanship.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and patterns accurately.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with clients and team members effectively.
