Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled HGV HIAB Driver to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy goods vehicles equipped with a HIAB crane, delivering and unloading large loads with precision and safety. Your expertise in flatbed driving, combined with your commitment to excellent service, will ensure timely deliveries and efficient operations. Duties
- Safely operate HGV vehicles with HIAB cranes to transport goods to various locations, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using the HIAB crane, ensuring secure handling of flatbed loads and other heavy items.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues promptly to maintain safety standards.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules while adhering to legal driving hours and restrictions.
- Assist with the secure loading of goods onto flatbeds, verifying that all items are correctly positioned and secured for transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery confirmation records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients to coordinate delivery times and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid HGV license, preferably with experience operating HIAB cranes.
- Demonstrated ability to handle flatbed loads safely and efficiently during transportation and unloading processes.
- Prior delivery driver experience in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations, vehicle maintenance procedures, and load securing techniques.
- Strong understanding of route planning and time management skills to ensure punctual deliveries.
