Build Your Career with Loveless Accountants
At Loveless Accountants, we do more than prepare accounts and tax returns. We help business owners gain the time and freedom to focus on what they do best by delivering proactive, technology-driven accounting and payroll solutions.
As our firm continues to grow, we're looking for a Payroll & CIS Administrator to join our team.
This isn't just another payroll processing role. We're looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with us. You'll initially learn our systems, clients and processes with the support of our experienced team before gradually taking ownership of the department as your confidence and experience grow.
Whether you've worked in an accountancy practice, payroll bureau or an in-house payroll department, we'd love to hear from you.
Your First 12 Months
We understand that every payroll professional has a different background, so we don't expect you to know everything from day one.
During your first few months you'll receive a structured handover and support while you become familiar with our clients, software and processes.
As your confidence grows you'll gradually take ownership of a larger client portfolio, becoming the main point of contact for payroll and CIS services while helping us continue to improve and develop the department.
What You'll Be Doing
As you settle into the role you'll be involved in:
- Processing weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Submitting RTI returns to HMRC.
- Processing starters, leavers and employee changes.
- Calculating statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP.
- Administering workplace pensions and auto-enrolment.
- Preparing and submitting CIS monthly returns.
- Registering and verifying subcontractors with HMRC.
- Responding to payroll, pension and CIS queries from clients.
- Maintaining accurate payroll and CIS records.
- Ensuring all payroll deadlines are met.
- Keeping up to date with payroll legislation.
- Supporting the wider compliance team where required.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in delivering a great service.
You don't need to tick every box below, we can provide training where needed.
Ideally you'll have:
- Previous payroll experience (either within practice, a payroll bureau or an in-house payroll team).
- A good understanding of UK payroll legislation.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and client service skills.
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Confidence using technology and learning new software.
- A proactive attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
Experience with CIS, workplace pensions, BrightPay or BrightCIS would be advantageous but is not essential, as training will be provided.
What You'll Receive
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Hybrid working following successful completion of probation.
- Full support while learning our clients, systems and processes.
- Ongoing technical training and professional development.
- Modern cloud-based software and technology.
- A friendly and supportive team environment.
- Company pension.
- Paid annual leave.
Why Join Loveless Accountants?

We believe technical skills can be developed, which is why we're looking for someone with the right attitude, professionalism and desire to learn. In return, we'll invest in your development and provide you with the opportunity to build a rewarding long-term career within a growing practice.
