The Facilities Department has a key role in supporting the organisation, working in a busy operational team to provide the Office Bearers and Members of Faculty with a high level of service. Post: Evening Cleaner & Supervisor (part-time 30 hours)

Salary: Grade 4b: £28,262 - £34,354 per annum (pro rata)
All new appointments will be made at the start of the salary scale
Hours: 30 hours per week @ 6 hrs per day
Monday to Friday: 16.00 pm - 10:00pm(When required alternative shift pattern of 18.00pm to 12.00am will require to be worked to accommodate business needs)

The purpose of this role is to manage and develop our team of 8 cleaners including overnight staff. The postholder will be responsible for creating and managing rotas, including holiday scheduling ensuring adequate cover 365 days per year. They will monitor team performance, providing regular feedback, support and additional training where required.
Working closely with the Deputy Faculty Superintendent, the successful applicant will help develop and maintain an agreed cleaning programme and security procedures. They will also ensure that all HR records, including training records and personal development documentation are maintained accurately and in line with organisational requirements.
The successful applicant will oversee and assist where required with the cleaning of offices, communal areas, stairwells, washrooms and other areas across all Faculty sites, ensuring consistently high standards of cleanliness are maintained.
The post holder will be expected to provide holiday cover for the night shift until midnight as required. Some weekend working will also be necessary. Although the role has an agreed number of working hours each month, the successful applicant must be willing to work flexibly on occasion to meet the operational demands of the service.
The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience, preferably within a cleaning or facilities environment. A full clean driving licence is essential. A valid first aid qualification is desirable; however training will be provided for candidates who do not already hold this qualification.
A basic level of Microsoft Office computer literacy is essential, as well as excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
