The Sofa Shop is looking for an experienced Lead Delivery Driver to take charge of our deliveries on a self-employed basis. You'll be the driver in the seat and the leader on the road — getting our premium sofas and recliners delivered, into the home, and set up right, with a driver's mate alongside you.
No two days the same, no sitting behind a desk. Early starts, long shifts, and proper hours for someone who likes to graft. If you're reliable, good with people, and handy enough to sort the odd fix on the day — read on.
What you'll be doing
Loading the van in the morning and hitting the road
Delivering sofas and recliners safely and professionally
Taking items into the home for customers on our home delivery service
Handling minor fixes and adjustments on the day where needed
Leading the team on the road and looking after your driver's mate
Representing The Sofa Shop and giving customers a great experience
Offloading and clearing packaging at the end of the shift
The hours (for those who like them long)
2–4 days per week
Early starts — 3am–4am depending on the route
Long shifts — averaging 12 hours, up to 18 depending on the day
No overnight stays — home every night
The pay
£12.71 per hour
Self-employed — you invoice us, paid monthly
Must be registered as self-employed with HMRC (responsible for your own tax and NI)

What you'll need
Full, valid UK driving licence (standard) — must be able to drive a manual
Previous delivery driving experience
Reliable, punctual and happy to lead a small team
Practical and good with your hands for minor fixes
Comfortable in customers' homes and great with people
Physically fit — plenty of lifting and long days on your feet
Right to work in the UK
Happy to undergo a DBS check (you'll be entering customers' homes)
