Overview
Join our dynamic team as a working supervisor/ganger, where you will play a vital role in overseeing, coordinating and delivering the daily operations at one of our projects in Edinburgh for a Tier 1 Contractor upgrading vital road and bridge infrastructure. As a ganger, you will be the key link between site management and the site team, ensuring that tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards. Your leadership will help keep projects on track, foster teamwork, and promote a safe working environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in construction supervision while contributing to an impactful project. Project Timeline 4 months.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction or maintenance workers on-site
- Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies
- Deliver daily briefings clearly to team members and assign tasks accordingly
- Monitor progress of tasks, troubleshoot issues promptly, and adjust schedules as needed
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and safety inspections
- Collaborate with site managers and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship among all crew members
- Complete Daily Diaries and Allocation Sheets.
Experience
- Proven experience working in construction environments with knowledge of site operations within the Civil Engineering Sector.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills for clear instruction and coordination among team members
- Knowledge of safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and best practices in construction supervision
- Ability to technical drawings and work instructions
