An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Llanwern High School. We are seeking to appoint
an enthusiastic and experienced individual to support the attendance team.
The successful candidate will provide vital administrative support to the attendance team, using robust
processes to ensure best practice across all aspects of attendance monitoring and reporting.
Applicants should have a strong background in providing administrative support, with excellent
organisational, communication, and IT skills.
The role will involve maintaining accurate attendance records, supporting attendance tracking and
monitoring procedures, liaising with pupils, families, and external agencies, and assisting in the
administration of Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs). The successful candidate will work closely with the
attendance team and Heads of Year to promote high levels of attendance and punctuality across the
school.

Our school
Llanwern High School is a mixed 11–18 comprehensive school serving much of the eastern side of
Newport. The school is housed in a modern building that provides an excellent learning environment
suited to 21st-century education.
There are currently approximately 1,100 pupils on roll, with numbers expected to grow significantly in
the coming years. The school provides a high level of support for staff and offers a positive and
welcoming working environment, alongside excellent staff wellbeing initiatives and professional
development opportunities for all employees.
