SEN Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school setting in the Tonbridge area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their learning, development and wellbeing.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils
- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning
- Assisting with classroom activities and educational tasks
- Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and social skills
- Supporting children with their emotional, behavioural and communication needs
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
- Working closely with teachers and other support staff
- Following individual support and education plans
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement
About You
We are looking for someone who is caring, patient, resilient and passionate about supporting children with SEN.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable
- A good understanding of additional needs
- A patient and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for helping children develop and succeed
- A reliable and professional approach
