We are currently looking for a highly motivated Accountants Assistant - Banking to join our dynamic Accounts Hub. If you have excellent communication skills, a strong team player mentality, and a keen eye for detail, then we want to hear from you. Previous motor trade experience would be an advantage but not essential.
The Accounts Assistant (Banking) is responsible for accurate and timely processing, reconciliation and reporting of banking transactions across the Group. The role is pivotal in maintaining effective financial controls, supporting cash management processes and ensuring all receipts and payments are recorded correctly within the accounting system.
This role will liaise with dealership management, sales, service and finance teams to ensure banking records are complete, accurate and up to date. The role will work closely with the Group Financial Controller to support robust cash management and financial governance across multiple dealership locations.
What you’ll do:
Key Responsibilities

Process and reconcile daily banking transactions across multiple dealership sites.

Ensure all cash, cheque, card and electronic payments are accurately posted and allocated.

Prepare and complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.

Monitor dealership bank accounts and identify any unusual transactions or variances.

Produce banking and reconciliation reports and support audits.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Banking Assistant, Cashier or similar finance role.

Experience of bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations and debt management.

Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
