About the role
Are you a senior professional looking for a challenging and rewarding role where you can use your skills to make a real difference? If so, we want to hear from you.
This is an exciting time to be joining Bury Council, a growing Council and an equally growing legal services team. We are undertaking a number of exciting development plans across our six townships which require input from the team which may be just what you are looking for to develop and hone your skills.
Bury Legal Services plays a vital role in supporting the Council's vision for the borough and we are looking for a senior lawyer to join our team and contribute to the delivery of a high quality legal service to our several client departments.
What you'll be doing
As a senior lawyer you will lead upon and manage a variety of complex matters, advising on all aspects of property law, with a focus on commercial property transactions but also working for clients who need residential properties to be bought in. We also advise and complete transactions for other in-house clients on all property related matters. You will be part of a wider dynamic within the Council and will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver our strategic goals to improve the borough for our residents.
We are currently developing many sites which bring a variety of instructions to ensure that the work stream is always interesting and with lots of variety.
At Bury, we are advocates of developing our teams and as a senior lawyer, you will also provide significant input to the development of our apprentices and more junior team members as we focus on developing our team to the highest standard. We are an organisation that looks to promote collaborative working styles.
The Economies and Environment Legal Team are a friendly and helpful group who are looking forward to welcoming the successful candidate.
