Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Part-time Waitress to join our vibrant hospitality team. This role involves delivering exceptional guest service in a lively restaurant environment, ensuring customers enjoy a memorable dining experience. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently during busy periods. Previous restaurant experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers flexible hours suitable for students or individuals seeking part-time employment.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and seat them promptly, creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are noted
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and hygiene
- Provide attentive guest service, addressing any queries or concerns courteously
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Handle payments accurately using the point-of-sale system and provide correct change
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables, service stations, and dining areas
- Follow food safety procedures and health & safety regulations at all times
- Assist in food preparation or kitchen duties as required, supporting the culinary team when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is desirable but not essential
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper serving techniques
- Basic maths skills for handling payments and bills confidently
- Good organisational skills with effective time management during busy service periods
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of food preparation or culinary techniques is an advantage
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and customer needs during shifts
