Role Overview
The pattern cutter assistant will be working alongside our senior pattern cutter and head of atelier. You will be responsible for helping create precise patterns for both clients and collection. Within the role, you will assist in creating tech packs, project timelines, and client order files. You will learn haute couture standards of pattern making and construction whilst working in an atelier environment. This position focuses on delivering the highest standards of craftsmanship across bespoke and collection pieces. The role offers the opportunity to refine pattern techniques within a couture environment and contribute to the creation of exceptional garments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of bespoke patterns
- Create
- Construct toiles, following patterns and technical guidance.
- Execute both hand sewing and machine sewing techniques with precision and care.
- Assist within toiles and final garments fittings.
- Ensure a clean, organised workspace and proper handling of materials.
- Support wider atelier tasks as required.
Skills & Attributes
Experience in pattern construction, either through education or professional work.
- Strong sewing skills, both by hand and machine.
- Understanding of pattern cutting construction
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team.
- Organised, reliable, and professional in a studio environment.
- Passion for couture and craftsmanship.
Progression & Development
This role offers the opportunity to further develop couture techniques and craftsmanship within a highly specialised atelier. Progression and increased responsibility will be based on skill level, consistency of work, and contribution to the studio. As the brand grows, there is potential for advancement into roles within garment construction and couture production.
Pay: £25.00 per day
