St George’s Crypt has been providing care and hope to the homeless and vulnerable in Leeds since 1930. We are looking for a qualified Volunteer Podiatrist to join our wellbeing team to provide essential foot care to those who need it most. Many of our clients spend long days on their feet in harsh conditions, making professional podiatry a vital part of our holistic care.
We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Podiatrist to join our Health & Wellbeing team in Leeds city centre. This role offers an opportunity to provide essential foot care services to the community while gaining valuable experience in a supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality podiatric assessments and treatments, contributing to improving patients' mobility and overall well-being. This volunteer position is suitable for qualified podiatrists looking to make a meaningful difference within the local area.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive foot examinations and assessments for adult patients.
- Develop personalised treatment plans tailored to individual needs
- Provide appropriate interventions, including advice, footwear recommendations, and minor treatments
- Educate patients on foot health, prevention strategies, and self-care techniques
Requirements
- Qualified Podiatrist registered with the appropriate professional body
- Your own equipment
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Commitment to volunteering and providing compassionate care within a community setting
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
