Early Years Practitioner – Qualified or Experienced Unqualified
Walton Montessori Nursery | Walton-on-Thames, Surrey
Permanent | Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week | 4-Day-Per-Week Contracts Available | Up to £31,185 per annum (DOE)
Looking for a nursery where your experience, personality and passion for children really matter?
At Walton Montessori Nursery, we believe that exceptional Early Years education starts with exceptional people. We're passionate about creating a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, confident and excited to learn—and where our team feels valued, supported and encouraged to develop.
Our nursery provides a caring and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover and learn through play. We believe in getting to know every child as an individual and creating experiences that support their confidence, independence and development. As part of Inspired Learning Group, you'll enjoy the close-knit feel of a welcoming nursery while benefiting from excellent training, ongoing support and genuine career progression opportunities across our wider family of independent schools and nurseries.
We're looking for a passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly and dedicated team.
You don't necessarily need a formal Early Years qualification to apply. We're happy to consider candidates who have previous experience working in a nursery and have a good understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding and high-quality childcare.
If you're qualified to Level 2 or above, that's fantastic. If you're experienced, knowledgeable and passionate about working with young children but don't currently hold a formal qualification, we'd still love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
As an Early Years Practitioner, you'll play an important role in providing high-quality care and education, helping every child develop the confidence, independence and curiosity they need to thrive.
You'll:
- Plan and provide engaging, play-based learning experiences that reflect children's individual interests, needs and stages of development.
- Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where children feel valued, supported and encouraged to explore.
- Build warm and trusting relationships with children, supporting their emotional wellbeing and individual needs.
- Observe and recognise children's development and progress, using your knowledge of the EYFS to support their next steps.
- Support children's communication, confidence, independence and social development through responsive and nurturing practice.
- Encourage learning through both indoor and outdoor experiences, giving children opportunities to explore, investigate and discover.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, sharing information and working together to support each child's development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of care, learning and professionalism.
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of your room and contribute positively to the wider nursery team.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and children's wellbeing remain at the heart of everything you do.
- Contribute ideas and enthusiasm to continually improve the experiences we provide for children and families.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous nursery or Early Years experience.
- A good understanding of the EYFS, child development and safeguarding.
- A caring, enthusiastic and positive approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality Early Years education and care.
- The ability to build warm, trusting relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
- A willingness to learn, develop and contribute positively to the nursery team.
A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification is desirable but is not essential for the right candidate with relevant nursery experience and knowledge.
