Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Children's Support Worker to provide compassionate care and support to children in a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting the well-being, development, and safety of children, ensuring they receive the appropriate care and guidance in a nurturing environment. Duties
- Assist children with daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs and circumstances.
- Support children in developing social skills, independence, and emotional resilience.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviour, and any incidents in accordance with organisational policies.
- Drive children to appointments, activities, or outings as required, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and external professionals to promote collaborative support.
- Monitor and report on children's behaviour and development to relevant team members.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to childcare.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a childcare or residential setting is preferred.
- Completed or have a willingness to start a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare
- Valid driving licence with clean driving record; willingness to drive children when necessary.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience in creating or following care plans.
- IT literacy skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting children's growth and well-being.
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts as required by the organisation's rota.
- Relevant safeguarding training or willingness to undertake such training prior to commencement. Pay: From £12.71 per hour
