Iroka operates interior showrooms in Hayle and Wadebridge, supporting clients with curated furnishings and design expertise.
Role Description The Curtains and Blinds Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Hayle. The consultant will guide customers through the selection of curtains, blinds, and soft furnishings, providing expert advice on fabrics, styles, colour schemes, and technical specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting in-store consultations, measuring windows and spaces on-site, preparing quotations, and coordinating orders with suppliers and the installation team through to final installation and dressing. The role involves maintaining product displays, staying up to date with design trends and product ranges, and ensuring a high level of customer service from initial enquiry through to project completion. The consultant will work closely with Iroka’s interior designers and wider team to integrate window treatments into overall design schemes and support the delivery of projects on time and to the required quality standards. The position consist of a 5 day week spread across a six day week (Mon-Sat) with rotating weekends off.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and consultation skills, including the ability to listen, understand client needs, and communicate solutions clearly and professionally.
- Practical knowledge of curtains, blinds, and soft furnishings, including fabrics, linings, fixings, measurements, and basic installation considerations.
- Experience or interest in interior design, colour coordination, and space planning, with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client enquiries, quotations, and follow-ups efficiently.
- Competence with basic IT tools (email, spreadsheets, design or quoting software) and accurate numerical skills for measuring and calculating requirements.
- Ability to work on-site in Hayle, including local travel using company vehicles for consultations and measurements, and to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience in interiors, retail furnishings, or a similar customer-facing design environment is beneficial.
- Relevant training or qualifications in interior design, textiles, or a related field are an advantage but not essential where equivalent experience is demonstrated.
