Overview
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Coach Driver to join our team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in commercial driving, vehicle maintenance, and customer service. The role involves supporting the transportation of passengers and goods, with a focus on safety, reliability, and professionalism. Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training to become fully qualified coach drivers, with the potential for career progression within our organisation.
Duties
- Assist in the safe operation of coaches under supervision, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and company policies
- Support the preparation and checking of vehicles prior to journeys, including basic maintenance and safety inspections
- Help with loading and unloading luggage or cargo as required
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers and passengers using professional English at all times
- Support route planning and navigation to ensure timely arrivals and departures
- Contribute to a clean and well-maintained vehicle environment by assisting with regular cleaning and minor repairs
- Observe all health and safety regulations during daily operations
Skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with vehicle checks and minor maintenance tasks
- Experience or familiarity with commercial driving is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with passengers and team members
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or similar role is beneficial
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence or equivalent is required; willingness to undertake further driver training is essential
- Good driving skills with an understanding of road safety principles
- Organised, responsible, and able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
