Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week (including alternate weekends as required)

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and organised Cook as part of our kitchen team within our friendly and well-established nursing home.
Our residents deserve delicious, nutritious and well-presented meals that meet their individual dietary, cultural and clinical needs. We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to delivering high-quality food and an excellent dining experience every day.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work within the kitchen service, to ensure the highest standards of food safety, nutrition and hospitality.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious, varied and appetising menus.
- Cater for specialist diets, including texture-modified meals and therapeutic diets.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene legislation, HACCP and infection prevention standards.
- Food ordering, stock control and kitchen budgets.
- Maintain excellent cleaning schedules and kitchen records.
- Work closely with residents, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure individual dietary needs and preferences are met.
- Ensure all meals are prepared and served to a consistently high standard.
- Promote a positive dining experience for all residents.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working within a care home, healthcare or hospitality environment (desirable but not essential).
- Holds a Level 3 Food Safety qualification (or is willing to obtain one).
- Has knowledge of nutrition for older people and modified diets.
- Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Is passionate about delivering outstanding food and customer service.
- Can work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
