Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 2 Hiab Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Class 2 lorry equipped with a Hiab crane, delivering goods efficiently and safely across various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle specialised lifting equipment. Prior experience in commercial driving and delivery is highly desirable.
Duties
- Operate a Class 2 lorry fitted with a Hiab crane to load, unload, and deliver plant/machinery to sites.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed in a timely and professional manner, adhering to schedules.
- Safely operate flatbed vehicles during transportation of goods, ensuring secure loading and unloading procedures.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to maintain safety standards.
- Assist with the securing of loads and ensure compliance with safety regulations during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams.
- Follow all road safety laws and company policies while on duty.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries.
- Experience operating a Hiab crane or similar lifting equipment is highly advantageous.
- Delivery driver experience is preferred, demonstrating reliability and professionalism on the road.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
- Strong awareness of health and safety regulations related to vehicle operation and lifting operations.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
