We are looking for a Chef to join our team at Lashbrook House Care Home where we specialize in residential, nursing, dementia and short-stay respite care.

The Chef works with the Head Chef to ensure that catering is provided within the care home and must ensure that high standards and high customer satisfaction are delivered, all kitchen services are efficient, and that the required Health and Safety measures are in place and adhered to. In addition, they are responsible for ensuring that food presentation achieves high standards at all times, meeting resident needs.
Main responsibilities as a Sous Chef are:
1. Assist with the delivery of all catering services throughout the home, ensuring that resident choice, dignity, confidentiality and safety are maintained.
2. Engage with residents and Head Chef to discuss and agree catering functions across the home, at all times, meeting the special needs or dietary requirements of residents.
3. Support cost-effective stock control systems and ensure these are in place to minimise waste.
4. Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and food storage areas at all times, in accordance with the appropriate food hygiene regulations and relevant food safety management system in place.
5. Ensure safe operation and maintenance of all kitchen equipment. Reporting any item of equipment found to be faulty or deemed unsafe from use and report it to the Home Manager or Handyperson.
6. Comply with safe working procedures and practices in accordance with Health and Safety legislation.
7. Participate in events held in the home, liaising with the Head Chef to ensure nutrition and hydration needs are met, as well as social aspects of such events.
8. Comply with the HR policies and procedures.
9. Supervise and instruct Kitchen Staff Members in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures, giving help and guidance where appropriate.
