Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Assistant Manager to join our team at a busy, traditional British-only pub. This role requires someone with strong leadership skills, a deep appreciation for British pub culture, and the ability to maintain high service standards in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the General Manager in the daily operations of the pub.
- Lead and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Ensure smooth and efficient bar and floor service, especially during peak hours.
- Assist with staff training, rota planning, and shift management.
- Maintain the traditional British pub atmosphere and uphold cultural authenticity.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.
- Oversee health and safety compliance, hygiene standards, and licensing regulations.
- Act as a key holder and take charge of opening/closing duties.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in hospitality.
- Strong understanding and respect for British pub traditions and clientele expectations.
- Confident in leading a team and making decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Personal Licence (preferred or willingness to obtain).
