Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial and financial performance of our groundworks and construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost control, contract management, procurement, forecasting, and maximising project profitability while managing commercial risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of multiple groundworks and construction projects.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, valuations, and final accounts.
- Review and manage contracts, variations, and subcontract agreements.
- Lead procurement activities and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure timely applications and payments.
- Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
- Produce regular commercial reports for senior management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and project teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor, or similar role within construction or groundworks.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and financial management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Management.
- Experience with NEC and JCT contracts.
- Groundworks, civil engineering, or infrastructure project experience.
Pay: £35,000.00-£83,266.93 per year
