SGL is looking for an experienced Security Operations Manager to join our events team at
Glasgow's iconic OVO Hydro, which is part of the Scottish Event Campus (SEC).
As an Operations Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our approach. Working as
part of our Operations team, you'll enhance client relationships, lead on event delivery, and
ensure the highest levels of safety and service across security, stewarding, and crowd
management.

What You Will Be Doing
- Responsible for the planning, preparation, organisation, management and delivery of
the stewarding element at each event.
- Leading. coaching and supporting Senior Supervisors, Supervisors and the wider
stewarding teams.
- Working closely with scheduling and management team to collectively ensure
adequate resources.
- Leading event operations where required, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and
safe outcomes.
- Ensuring the event teams operate to the highest levels of standards throughout.
- Managing accurate and timely event invoicing.
- Taking full accountability for workforce management, covering the complete
employee lifecycle.
- Driving recruitment activity in partnership with the wider events team.
- Maintaining compliance across all systems, processes, and operational
documentation.

Ensuring fast, clear, and professional communication with clients, partners, and
teams.
- Ensure that staff are adequately trained for allocated positions, attend meetings
pertaining to events and areas of contractual ownership, as assigned by the Contract
Manager.
- Utilising technology platforms to analyse and trend performance data identifying
areas of improvement.
What We Need From You
- Proven experience in a similar role within the security or events industry.
- A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (minimum requirement).
- Level 4 Spectator Safety Management or willing to work towards.
- IOSH or a willingness to undertake.
- Knowledge and operational experience across a variety of live entertainment types.
- Attention to detail with high levels of accuracy.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness.
- Confidence in analysing data and turning insights into actions.
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships with clients, partners, and
authorities.
- Demonstrated experience in managing people at multiple levels.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
