Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Deputy Manager to join Sunflower Day Nursery to support the Deputy Manager and Nursery Manager in the effective operation of the nursery, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for the children. To support staff management, day to day running of the nursery.
Duties
- Support Deputy Manager and Nursery Manager in the daily management of the nursery.
- Supervise, motivate, and support nursery staff.
- Assist with staff recruitment, induction, training, and performance reviews.
- Monitor planning, observations, and assessments of children's development.
- Support staff in meeting children's individual needs.
- Promote inclusive practice and equal opportunities.
Safeguarding and Welfare
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
- Support staff in identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and secure environment for children, staff, and visitors.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
Parent and Family Partenerships
- Develop positive relationships with parents and carers.
- Address concerns and queries professionally and promptly.
- Support parent meetings and nursery events.
- Encourage family involvement in children's learning and development.
Administration
- Assist with maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Help manage staff ratios
- Monitor policies and procedures to ensure best practice.
Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Level 3 or 4 in Child Care (or willingness to obtain level 4)
- Experience in a Senior position
- Experience supervising or leading a team.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organisiational and time management abilities.
- Commitment to providing outstanding childcare
- Positive, professional , and approachable manner.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
