Travel: Community-based role – full UK driving licence and business insurance required
Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting Band 6 Health Visitors to join a 0–19 Public Health Nursing Service in Worcestershire. This role involves delivering high-quality, evidence-based health visiting services to children, young people, and families across community settings.
You will manage a defined caseload, delivering the Healthy Child Programme and supporting families through universal, targeted, and specialist interventions. The role requires strong clinical decision-making, safeguarding knowledge, and the ability to work independently across a geographically dispersed area.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Deliver the Healthy Child Programme across a defined caseload
- Undertake child development reviews, health assessments, and family visits
- Provide evidence-based health promotion and preventative interventions
- Identify health needs and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans
- Support children with additional needs, including SEND
- Provide early help interventions and targeted support where required
Safeguarding
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with policy
- Attend child protection conferences, core groups, and strategy meetings
- Prepare and contribute to safeguarding reports and court documentation
- Work closely with social care and multi-agency partners
Caseload Management
- Manage a defined geographical caseload independently
- Prioritise workload effectively and delegate tasks appropriately
- Monitor and review delegated work to ensure safe and effective care delivery
Leadership & Team Support
- Support and supervise junior staff, students, and support workers
- Contribute to team meetings, service development, and peer supervision
- Deputise for senior staff when required
Communication & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams
- Share relevant information appropriately to ensure safe care delivery
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical records
Professional Practice
- Adhere to NMC Code of Conduct and Trust policies
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR and data protection standards
- Participate in clinical supervision, training, and continuing professional development
- Ensure safe use of equipment and resources
Essential Requirements
- NMC registered Nurse or Midwife with SCPHN Health Visitor qualification
- Recent experience within Health Visiting or community public health nursing
- Full UK driving licence
- Business insurance for work-related travel
- Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred)
- Ability to manage a community caseload independently
