Job Title: Hotel Receptionist (Contractual – Hourly Basis)
Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Hotel Receptionist to join our team on a contractual, hourly-paid basis. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations efficiently. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and are flexible with shift schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests in a warm and professional manner.
- Perform guest check-in and check-out procedures efficiently.
- Handle room reservations, cancellations, and booking modifications.
- Answer telephone calls, emails, and guest enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Process guest payments and maintain accurate billing records.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to ensure room readiness.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and special requirements professionally.
- Maintain accurate guest records using the hotel's Property Management System (PMS).
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Receptionist, Front Desk Agent, or in a customer service role within the hospitality industry is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office; knowledge of hotel PMS (Opera, Cloudbeds, Protel, IDS, or similar) is an advantage.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work day, evening, night, weekend, and public holiday shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field is preferred.
- Multilingual candidates are highly desirable.
- Experience working in hotels or serviced apartments is an advantage.
