Area Manager – Operations
Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough and surrounding Northamptonshire areas.
Bowdraper Ltd. is a long established and growing Contract Cleaning Company based in Leamington Spa, and we're building out our regional operations team with an exciting opportunity for an Area Manager to lead service delivery across Northampton, Corby and the wider Northamptonshire area.
This is a hands on, client facing role for someone who thrives on building strong site relationships and leading cleaning teams to a consistently high standard. You'll be the face of Bowdraper across your patch, working closely with clients and operatives alike to keep standards high and contracts running smoothly.
Applicants should live within easy reach of these areas given the travel involved in the role.
What we're looking for
This is a role for an experienced operator. We're looking for someone who can walk onto a new site, quickly assess what's working and what isn't, and take ownership of it. Previous experience specifically within the contract cleaning industry is essential.
We're after someone who already knows the cleaning industry inside out and can hit the ground running, not someone we need to train from scratch. You'll need a proven track record of managing commercial cleaning contracts and teams, with the judgement and experience to handle client relationships, staffing issues and site problems confidently and without hand-holding.

The role
- Maintain cleaning standards to Bowdraper and client satisfaction at all times
- Liaise with and escalate to management where required
- Report any site changes that may affect the contract
- Train and motivate cleaning operatives
- Control and distribute supplies
- Manage monthly site inspection sheets, customer care reports and similar records
- Compile four weekly wages electronically, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to head office
- Complete relevant staff change documentation
- Supply relief or temporary operatives when needed
- Report equipment defects and label faulty machinery clearly
- Flag opportunities for additional business to management
What you'll bring

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' commercial cleaning experience, ideally in a management or supervisory capacity within the contract cleaning sector specifically
- Minimum 3 years' operations management experience, with a demonstrable track record of successfully managing multi-site contracts
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, with examples you can speak to at interview
- Full UK driving licence
- DBS certificate issued in the last 3 years (preferred)
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
