The post holder will provide expert clinical leadership within the Children's Nutrition Service, supporting patients receiving parental and enteral nutrition.
Line manage and professionally lead the Children's PN, EN, and IBD Clinical Nurse Specialist teams.
Support the development, implementation and review of clinical guidelines, policies, care pathways, audit programmes and patient information resources
Lead the development and delivery of education and training programmes for patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals
Work collaboratively with local hospitals and community nursing teams across the Yorkshire and Humber region, providing specialist advice, support and education relating to Paediatric Artificial Nutrition
Actively contribute to the wider Paediatric Gastroenterology Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and participate in governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Provide clinical leadership for nasogastric (NGT) safety across Leeds Children's Hospital, supporting ongoing education, governance and quality assurance to maintain the highest standards of patient safety.
Support service development and innovation across Nutrition and IBD services, ensuring care is responsive, effective and aligned with local and national priorities
Work closely with consultants, allied health professional, managers and wider MDT colleagues to identify service challenges and implement improvement plans where required
Foster a positive team culture that values professional development, continuous learning and staff wellbeing
Support and encourage colleagues to achieve their personal and professional development goals through mentorship, supervision and career planning.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in regional, national and international professional networks relevant to paediatric nutrition and gastroenterology. This will provide opportunities to contribute to service development, share best practice and attend educational events and conferences.
