Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Transport Administrator to join our logistics team. Duties
- Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving activities
- Communicate effectively with carriers, 3PL providers (third-party logistics), and internal teams to facilitate smooth freight operations
- Manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and delivery confirmations with attention to detail
- Perform data entry tasks related to freight movements, inventory updates, and shipment tracking with high accuracy
- Monitor supply chain activities to identify delays or issues, providing analysis and solutions promptly
- Ensure proper shipping & receiving procedures are followed, adhering to safety standards and company policies
- Liaise with customers regarding their delivery schedules
Experience
- Proven experience working with transportation management systems (TMS)
- Strong understanding of logistics operations within supply chain environments, including shipping & receiving processes
- Excellent analysis skills for evaluating transportation data and identifying efficiencies or areas for improvement
- Exceptional communication skills for liaising with carriers, vendors, and internal teams effectively
- Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy and typing speed; familiarity with phone etiquette for professional interactions
- Knowledge of 3PL providers and logistics industry best practices is a plus
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
