What You'll Be Doing
You'll deliver engaging employability and sector awareness sessions across a range of programmes, supporting learners to understand the world of work and prepare for their next steps.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality, interactive employability and sector awareness sessions
- Using innovation, creativity and different delivery techniques to bring programmes to life and keep learners engaged
- Delivering sessions covering CVs, applications, interview preparation, confidence, communication, workplace behaviours and employer expectations
- Bringing different industries to life through sector awareness activities across areas such as Construction, Warehousing, Health & Social Care, Hospitality and other local employment sectors
- Supporting learner onboarding and induction sessions, ensuring learners have a positive experience from day one
- Working with learners to develop detailed, inclusive and supportive Individual Learning Plans, recognising their starting points, aspirations, strengths and individual support needs
- Regularly reviewing learner progress and adapting support and delivery where required
- Creating an inclusive learning environment that enables learners of different abilities, experiences and backgrounds to participate and succeed
- Identifying learners who may be at risk of disengaging and providing appropriate support to help retain them on programme
- Maintaining regular communication and engagement with learners throughout their programme
- Driving attendance, retention, achievement and successful completion
- Supporting learners to identify transferable skills and understand realistic employment and progression opportunities
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, employers and partners to ensure delivery remains relevant to the local labour market
- Maintaining accurate learner records and completing relevant programme documentation to a high standard
- Contributing ideas and helping us continually develop and improve our programmes
Qualifications & Experience
We're looking for someone who has previous experience working in a similar training, employability, coaching or learner-support role.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of delivering employability, training, coaching or skills-based sessions
- Experience of working directly with learners or customers who may have different barriers to employment
- Confidence delivering engaging sessions to groups
- Experience of supporting individuals to set goals and work towards agreed outcomes
- An understanding of learner engagement, retention and achievement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to adapt your delivery style to meet different learning and support needs
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- A positive and creative approach to learning and development
- A genuine commitment to helping people progress towards employment

- Level 3 Award in Education and Training, PTLLS, or another recognised teaching/training qualification
- CAVA, TAQA or equivalent assessor qualification
- A recognised coaching or mentoring qualification
- Relevant sector-specific qualifications or professional experience
- Experience of delivering employability or adult skills programmes
We also welcome applications from experienced coaches or trainers who may have developed their skills through industry rather than following a traditional teaching route.
Who We're Looking For
The right person will be someone who can connect with learners and get the best out of them.
You'll be approachable and supportive while also being able to challenge and motivate learners to attend, participate and achieve.
You'll be comfortable standing in front of a group, but equally confident sitting down one-to-one with a learner to understand what's holding them back and helping them put a plan in place.
Most importantly, you'll bring energy, ideas and personality to our programmes. We want our learners to look forward to attending and leave our sessions feeling more confident about Working.
