Job Summary
We are looking for dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join a supportive educational setting working with learners aged 16–19. The successful candidate will work closely with students, including those with additional learning needs and EHCPs, supporting their learning, development, and engagement in a structured and inclusive environment. This role provides a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact by delivering tailored in-class support and helping learners achieve their academic and personal goals.
Working Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm
We have both full-time and part-time roles available
- Full time: Monday–Friday (£21,355 per annum)
- Part time: 3 days per week (flexible pattern)
You will be supporting learners helping them achieve their EHCP targets and individual learning goals while encouraging independence, confidence, and progress in the classroom.
Duties
- Support learners with EHCP outcomes and individual learning goals
- Adapt learning materials to improve accessibility and understanding
- Provide in-class support during structured learning activities and interventions
- Assist with managing engagement, behaviour, and classroom routines
- Promote positive interactions and an inclusive learning environment
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to support learning objectives set by teaching staff
- Support learners in developing confidence, independence, and study skills
- Communicate effectively with teaching staff to ensure consistent support strategies
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
- Support organisation and use of classroom resources and materials
Experience
- Previous experience supporting young people in educational settings is desirable
- Experience working with individuals with SEND or additional learning needs is highly advantageous
- Understanding of EHCPs and inclusive learning strategies preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with learners and staff
- Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learners
- Ability to work effectively as part of a classroom team
