Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is looking for warm, friendly, and reliable Volunteer Receptionists to join our team and help create a welcoming first impression for everyone who visits our hospice.
As a Volunteer Receptionist, you’ll play a vital role at the heart of the hospice, supporting patients, families, visitors, staff, and fellow volunteers with compassion and professionalism.
What you’ll be helping with:
- Welcoming patients, visitors, and staff with warmth, sensitivity, and discretion
- Ensuring visitors sign in and out and notifying staff of arrivals
- Answering incoming telephone calls, handling enquiries, and passing on messages accurately
- Checking voicemail messages each morning and sharing them with the relevant teams
- Managing the reception email inbox and forwarding queries appropriately
- Collecting and distributing post and assisting with outgoing mail, including franking
- Managing meeting room bookings for staff
- Maintaining the car parking booking spreadsheet and updating reserved signage when required
- Taking card and cash payments for items sold at reception, following hospice procedures
- Keeping the reception area tidy, well-stocked, and welcoming
What we’re looking for:
You don’t need previous experience — full training and ongoing support will be provided. We’re simply looking for people who are:
- Friendly, approachable, and compassionate
- Reliable and organised
- Comfortable using email and basic computer systems (word/Excel)
