Salary: £18.00 - £18.50phr (paid weekly)
Overtime 1.5 after40 hours
Hours of work: Mon - Thurs 07:00-16:00, Fri 07:00-13:00
Overview
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our clients fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing metal welding operations primarily using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding techniques to assemble and fabricate metal components. This role is essential in ensuring the production of high-quality, durable metal structures and products. The ideal candidate will demonstrate precision, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
Duties
- Operate MIG welding equipment to join metal parts according to technical specifications and safety guidelines.
- Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, and positioning sheets or components using hand tools and power tools.
- Fabricate and assemble metal components, including sheet metal parts, ensuring proper fit and finish.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot welding equipment issues and maintain optimal operation.
- Follow detailed work instructions and blueprints to ensure accuracy in fabrication processes.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications; perform necessary touch-ups.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist in the setup of welding stations, including adjusting equipment settings for different materials or thicknesses.
- Support team efforts in meeting production deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
