Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons at the sports centre. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages and food items, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the cleanliness of the workspace. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry while working in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling snacks or light meals as required.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and hygiene protocols at all times.
- Serve customers efficiently with a friendly attitude, taking orders accurately and processing payments using the point-of-sale system.
- Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
- Keep the workspace clean, organised, and hygienic throughout your shift, including cleaning equipment and surfaces regularly.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills to handle busy periods effectively while maintaining high service standards.
- Assist in training new team members when necessary to promote a cohesive working environment.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is key.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable.
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy.
- Basic food preparation skills are beneficial for handling light snacks or meal components.
- Good basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Strong time management abilities to prioritise tasks during busy periods efficiently.

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
