Night Shift Food Production Assistant
Working 22:00 to 06:30 - 40 hours per week
£27,300.00 per annum
We are looking for a reliable food production assistant to join our team on nights, preparing and prepping a wide range of products ready for the day's production. This is primarily a food production role, with some baking involved; as we expand into a larger bakery, baking skills will become an increasingly important part of the role. Working independently overnight, you'll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly and our products at their best.
Key Duties:
- Prepare and pre-bake dough, fillings, and other ingredients ready for the day's production.
- Portion, weigh and mix ingredients accurately in line with recipes and specifications.
- Set up workstations and equipment ready for the morning bakery team.
- Ensure all prepared products meet high-quality standards and comply with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Follow recipes and processes accurately and consistently to maintain product quality.
- Monitor and record fridge, freezer and oven temperatures as required.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe production environment throughout the shift.
- Manage stock rotation and assist with inventory and ordering of supplies.
- Hand over completed prep and any outstanding tasks clearly to the morning team.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in food preparation, food safety, and food production.
- Baking experience is desirable but not essential; willingness to develop baking skills as the bakery grows is important.
- Comfortable and confident working independently and unsupervised overnight.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively across a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills for handover to the day team.
