We are seeking a proactive and energetic Assistant Venue Manager to join our vibrant venue in Cardiff. In this role, you will join a very small team of creative individuals sharing responsibilities across all aspects of the business. The role will be varied, with shifts ranging from bar work, event creation and delivery, emails/calendar and social media management.
You will be working directly with the business owner to support overall venue management, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, outstanding customer service, and a welcoming environment for all visitors. Your leadership will help foster a positive atmosphere, motivate staff, and uphold high standards of service excellence. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop management skills within a lively hospitality setting dedicated to creating memorable experiences.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Venue Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring all aspects run efficiently and effectively
- Support staff management by scheduling shifts, providing training, and motivating team members to deliver top-tier guest services
- Ensure high standards of hospitality are maintained by monitoring cleanliness, safety protocols, and service quality throughout the venue
- Address guest inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure every visitor leaves satisfied and eager to return
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate event setups, manage crowd flow, and uphold safety procedures during busy periods
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incident reports, and operational logs to support smooth venue functioning
- Contribute to a positive team environment by promoting teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience in management or supervisory roles within hospitality or entertainment venues
- Strong understanding of guest services principles with a passion for creating welcoming environments
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members alike
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced settings
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed to support venue operations
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to hospitality venues
- A proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow within a management capacity

- Personal Licence holder (Training will be provided for the right candidate)
- Access to your own vehicle
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Training will be provided for the right candidate)
- Experience in cocktail making
- Experience in Email, social media and calendar management
- Willingness to contribute to social media content creation
- Experience using Photoshop or other content creation tools
- Confident, approachable and able to deliver a high level of customer service.

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
