Overview of role
The features editor will work closely with the Investment Week editor to write, organize, commission, and edit longer-form articles, while guiding other team members. The role involves collaborating with reporters, assisting them with news coverage, engaging with our audience through multimedia content, and hosting events.
Main responsibilities
- The role is multi-platform, involving work across online, video, and social media to tell our stories.
- Collaborating with the editor to agree on key themes the brand should focus on.
- Writing and commissioning long-form special articles and series on topics of interest to our readers, including regulation, new technologies, ESG, diversity, and market trends.
- Working with other editors to schedule video and multimedia content and measure their impact.
- Managing the weekly schedule for comment pieces and contributed content, including liaising with contributors and PR professionals.
- Building the Investment Week brand by establishing and developing new contacts within the audience and the wider industry.
- Collaborating with the editor, team members, and freelancers to ensure deadlines are met and work is shared.
- Assisting the news team when required by writing articles for the website and sending out news alerts.
- Working closely with the production team to ensure interactive layouts across online platforms and social media.
- Representing Investment Week at key industry events.
What we value

- Previous investment or financial journalism experience, with at least senior reporter-level expertise.
