Position: Baby Room Practitioner (Level 2 or Level 3)
Hours: 38 hours per week over 4 days
Location: Ladybirds Day Nursery
Reporting to: Baby Room Leader / Nursery Manager
About the Role
We are looking for a warm, caring, and enthusiastic practitioner to join our baby room team. This role involves providing high-quality care and early years education for children aged 0–2 years in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
You will work as part of a supportive team to ensure all children’s individual needs are met, helping them to feel secure, valued, and confident as they grow and develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, secure, and engaging environment for babies
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Support children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
- Plan and carry out age-appropriate activities that promote development
- Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies and procedures
- Carry out personal care routines, including feeding, nappy changing, and sleep routines
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress using the nursery’s systems
- Work as a key person, maintaining strong communication with parents
- Ensure the baby room is clean, organised, and well-resourced
- Support meal times and promote healthy eating habits
Requirements
- Full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare
- Previous experience working with babies (preferred)
- Good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- A genuine passion for working with young children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A caring, patient, and positive attitude
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
