About the Family
We are looking for a caring, reliable and compassionate live-in nanny/family support worker to become an important part of our family during a particularly difficult period in our lives.
The children’s mother is currently living with Stage 4 cancer, and their father works hard to support the family and manage the demands of work and home life. We are therefore looking for someone trustworthy and dependable who can provide practical support with the children and help bring some stability and reassurance to the household.
This is a role that requires not only childcare experience, but also kindness, patience, discretion and understanding.
The Role
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing safe, caring and attentive childcare
- Taking the children to and from school and other activities
- Helping with morning and evening routines
- Preparing simple meals and snacks for the children
- Supporting with homework and school-related activities
- Organising and supervising children’s activities
- Helping keep the children’s areas tidy and organised
- Providing general day-to-day support to the family where appropriate
- Communicating openly and respectfully with the parents
- Ensuring the children’s safety and wellbeing at all times
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Have a full UK driving licence
- Be a confident and safe driver
- Have previous childcare/nanny experience
- Be reliable, responsible and punctual
- Be warm, patient and genuinely caring towards children
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and privacy within a family home
- Be comfortable working as part of a family household
- Have a calm and supportive personality
- Be willing to commit to a live-in position
A DBS check and suitable references will be required.
