We’re recruiting an experienced, quality-driven Service Manager to support the delivery of our new services in Derby City Centre, opening later this year. The service may also support adults stepping down from hospital into the community, helping them regain independence while managing complex needs.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll tackle the real challenges of complex care, supporting individuals to overcome obstacles, build life skills, and regain confidence. The work is demanding but seeing the difference you make every day is incredibly rewarding.
Your role
You’ll have full accountability for the quality, safety, and performance of the service, including:
- Leading the day-to-day and 24-hour operational management of the service
- Supporting the mobilisation and development of the new service
- Ensuring the service meets and exceeds CQC Fundamental Standards
- Maintaining CQC registration, including notifications and compliance processes
- Embedding positive behaviour support, risk management, and person-centred planning
- Leading, supporting, and performance-managing staff to deliver high-quality care
- Managing budgets, rotas, staffing, occupancy, and KPIs
- Working closely with families, professionals, commissioners, and internal teams
You’ll receive tailored training and support from an experienced Area Manager and an Internal PBS Specialist to help you succeed in this specialist service.
Who we’re looking for
This role will suit someone confident, resilient, and values-led, with experience in mental health and complex care.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience managing residential services for adults with mental health or complex needs
- Experience supporting hospital discharge, step-down, or high-acuity services
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and health & social care legislation
- A solid understanding of positive behaviour support and risk management
- Excellent leadership, communication, and staff management skills
- The ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in challenging situations
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (minimum)
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the service
