About the role
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Deputy Manager to help lead our supported living services for adults with learning disabilities, autism and physical disabilities. In this vital role you will oversee day-to-day operations within a supported living environment, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity and well-being.

Working closely with our Registered Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with complex needs through proactive management and compassionate leadership.
Duties
- Lead the house and manage the daily operations of the service, ensuring compliance with CQC standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Monitor the service and its sites to ensure care is consistently safe, effective and person-centred
- Develop, review and update personalised care plans and risk assessments tailored to each individual's needs
- Lead, supervise and mentor care staff, providing guidance, training, supervision and performance appraisals to support their professional development
- Oversee medication administration (MAR) to ensure safety and accuracy in line with healthcare regulations
- Support individuals with activities of daily living, promoting independence while maintaining safety and dignity
- Attend and support medical and healthcare appointments, overseeing any health-related actions
- Build strong, trusting relationships with families, social workers, healthcare professionals and external agencies to ensure joined-up support
- Coordinate staff rotas, manage resources and ensure safe staffing levels at all times
- Ensure a safe environment through regular risk assessments, health & safety checks, safeguarding and incident investigations
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence and take part in the on-call rota
- Lead by example, promoting a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement
Experience
- Proven experience in a supported living or care home setting supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism or physical disabilities
- Demonstrable leadership experience supervising care teams
- Strong understanding of care planning, medication administration protocols and regulatory compliance (CQC)
- Experience supporting people with complex needs and behaviours that challenge, using positive behaviour support approaches
- Knowledge of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Care Act 2014
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with families, multidisciplinary teams and external agencies
- A Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (or equivalent), with willingness to work towards Level 5 (desirable)
- Enhanced DBS check (we can arrange this) and the right to work in the UK; a full UK driving licence is desirable
