What will you be doing?
As a Production Technician (Strain Gauge), you will support the manufacture and assembly of precision monitoring equipment, carrying out detailed and delicate work to ensure high-quality outputs. You’ll play a key role in building and assembling strain gauge systems that support critical engineering applications.
This is a fixed-term contract role for a minimum of 6 months, with potential to extend.
You will:
- Apply strain gauges using specialist adhesives and techniques to ensure accuracy and durability
- Carry out intricate assembly work with very small components requiring precision and care
- Hand solder fine wires and complete delicate electrical connections
- Manufacture bespoke wiring looms and route cables to specification
- Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and work instructions
- Carry out calibration, testing and validation of instrumentation to ensure accurate data capture
- Use test equipment, including multimeters, to support build and validation activities
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and contribute to continuous improvement

To join our team, you will need:
- A relevant engineering or technical qualification (desirable)
- Experience or aptitude for hands-on assembly work
- Knowledge of electrical assembly, including wiring and soldering
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
- Strong manual dexterity and the ability to work with very small components
- Excellent attention to detail and precision
- Ability to follow technical instructions and processes accurately
- A proactive and reliable approach to working within a production or workshop environment
