The Senior Quantity Surveyor opportunity:
Laing O'Rourke are currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team working across projects in Grimsby.
We have been appointed as construction partner for National Grid's Great Grid Partnership programme, which forms part of a supply chain framework that will also support infrastructure projects beyond 2030.
What will the role look like?
Managing all commercial and quantity surveying duties across allocated work packages
Measurement, valuation, and agreement of works
Preparation and management of interim applications and payment certifications
Drafting, managing, and closing out subcontracts
Monthly cost reporting and commercial forecasting
Preparation, management, and negotiation of claims and final accounts
Identifying, pricing, and managing change control processes
Advising project teams on contractual obligations, commercial risks, and opportunities
Producing contract reviews, BPR information, and management reports
Supporting project budget establishment from contract award stage
Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
Mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members
What skills & experience are we looking for?
A degree in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management.
RICS membership (desirable but not essential)
Strong NEC contract knowledge.
Previous experience within power or major infrastructure projects.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to manage risk while driving commercial performance.
