Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Swim Instructor to join our team and deliver our Swim:Ed programme in our partner schools during the school day. The ideal candidate will have a passion for swimming and teaching, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for young swimmers.
Job Description:
- Overseeing and ensuring children's safety during swimming lessons.
- Setting up and taking down the temporary swimming pool and related equipment as needed.
- Teaching swimming lessons and water safety to primary school children, aligned with the National Curriculum.
- Upholding pool rules and regulations while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Handling emergency situations, providing first aid and continued professional development when necessary.
- Working with school staff and families to foster a positive swimming experience for all children.
- Conducting relevant risk assessments and maintaining logs to ensure participant safety.
- Participating in professional development as required for the role.
- Serving as a positive role model, fostering a positive and engaging environment that encourages participation in sports and physical activity.
- We deliver in a different school each half-term to being open to travel would be essential.
Experience:
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum for primary school Swimming.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualified lifeguard.
- Experience of using IT platforms.

- SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming/STA Level 2 Certificate in Swimming Teaching
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) x1
- First Aid Certificate
- Safeguarding Qualification
- Current Enhanced DBS Check
