Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate, dedicated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team, teaching small group classes (maximum of three students per session) at our private pool.
Key Details:
- Working Hours: Primarily Tuesdays, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Occasional sickness cover. Term time only.
- Class Size: Small groups for focused, personalized instruction.
- Rural Location: Due to our rural location, private transportation is required.
- Start Date: September 2026
About You:
You have a strong background in swimming techniques and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching. You’re committed to creating a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment where students of all ages can develop their skills and confidence in the water.
Your Role:
- Teach and motivate students to achieve their swimming goals.
- Maintain a high standard of safety and professionalism.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents to ensure a positive learning experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead swimming lessons for individuals and groups across a range of skill levels.
- Create personalized lesson plans to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student.
- Teach water safety, swimming techniques, and promote personal fitness.
- Track student progress, offering constructive feedback to support their development.
- Ensure the pool area remains safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Keep parents or guardians informed about their child's achievements and areas for improvement.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on best practices.
Experience
- Prior experience in sports coaching or swimming instruction is essential.
- Lifeguard or first aid certification is essential.
- Solid understanding of swimming techniques and safety procedures.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- A true passion for teaching and supporting others in developing their swimming skills.
Qualifications
- Level 2 ASA or STA Certificate
- Pool Lifeguarding certification
- A valid DBS
- SE - Safeguarding in Aquatics or equivalent
