Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional DHL Courier to join our logistics team in two Manchester sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering parcels(up to 80 stops) efficiently and safely across designated routes. This role requires excellent driving skills, organisational abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, on a self-employed basis, supporting the timely delivery of goods while maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a DHL delivery vehicle along assigned routes, adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
- Deliver parcels to customers promptly and accurately, ensuring all deliveries are completed within scheduled timeframes.
- Collect signatures or proof of delivery as required, maintaining accurate records of all deliveries made.
- Assist with loading and unloading parcels, including heavy lifting where necessary, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and behaviour when interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Follow all health and safety regulations during deliveries and while working in warehouses or storage areas.
Skills
- Proven delivery driver experience with a clean driving record.
- Valid driver’s licence with appropriate classification for commercial driving.
- Experience in commercial driving or warehouse operations is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and team members.
- Good organisational skills with an organised approach to workload management.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality in meeting deadlines.
