We are seeking a dedicated, resilient and compassionate Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team. This role is ideal for both experienced Senior Residential Workers looking for a rewarding environment and skilled Residential Support Workers ready to take the next step into leadership.
You will play a key role in leading shifts, supporting staff, and helping young people build confidence, resilience and independence.
About Olive Lodge
Olive Lodge is a three-bedroom children’s home located in Derby, dedicated to supporting young people aged 7–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and a range of additional needs.
The home accommodates up to three young people at a time, allowing for a highly personalised and therapeutic approach to care. Olive Lodge provides a safe, nurturing and structured environment where young people are supported to explore new opportunities, build meaningful relationships, and develop their confidence, independence and social-emotional skills.
Main Purpose of the Role
The Senior Residential Support Worker will provide first-line leadership and management to a small team of Residential Support Workers, ensuring that all children receive high-quality, person-centred care.
The role combines hands-on care with leadership responsibilities, including staff supervision, care planning, and maintaining strong partnerships with external professionals and stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare
- Experience in a senior or shift-leading role desirable, or readiness to step into one
- Willingness to complete Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification
- Full UK manual/ automatic driving licence
- Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively
- Knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour management and child development
