Duties
- Remove and replace tyres efficiently using hand tools and power tools, ensuring proper fitment and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections of tyres for damage, wear, and punctures; advise customers on repairs or replacements.
- Use mechanical knowledge to assist with wheel balancing, alignment checks, and basic vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Operate heavy lifting equipment or manually lift tyres safely to prevent injury during handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining tyre options, maintenance procedures, and safety tips clearly.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to keep the workshop running smoothly.
Experience
- Proven mechanical knowledge related to vehicle tyres, wheels, or automotive maintenance.
- Experience using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and tyre levers; familiarity with power tools is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy tyres and wheels.
- Previous experience in a tyre fitting or automotive workshop environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about their vehicle needs.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures will be advantageous.
