Responsibilities
- Assist patients and residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Support individuals with their daily routines, including meal preparation and medication reminders.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided in accordance with care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of care.
- Drive between different care settings or appointments as required, ensuring timely attendance.
- Assist with light domestic duties to promote a clean and safe environment.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
- Participate in ongoing training programmes to stay updated on best practices in healthcare assistance.
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, with the ability to listen attentively and convey information clearly.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining electronic records and updating care plans accurately.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a busy environment.
- Driving licence is desirable for mobility between care settings or home visits.
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary.
